From the Roughnecks website:
To celebrate their 10th season the Calgary Roughnecks have designed a new jersey and logo to commemorate their anniversary. The new logo will represent the Roughnecks 10 years in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).
Now first of all, I like the jerseys. It’s simple, stylish and gets its point across. I believe they are a few steps above the jerseys that the Edmonton Rush spit out.
Second of all, you’re trying too hard with the logo. Don’t see me as a jersey hater. I’m all for new jerseys. In fact, I love new jerseys. I also love critiquing them. This is the only flaw; and a small one at that.
One thing I do take question to is not the jersey itself, but the way the described it.
Again from the ‘necks website:
The new jersey captures the “Xtreme” factor the Roughnecks are looking for in the 2011 season, incorporating the roman numeral ‘X' into the entire production of the jersey and the backdrop of the new logo.
In a season where you lose the league’s top scorer and your franchises top scorer, I wouldn’t call it Xtreme. Though I like the use of puns.
I give it a 3.5 out of 5.
