Although the Knighthawks actually received elite goaltender Matt Vinc in a trade for John Grant, many Rochester fans feel that first overall draft pick Cody Jamieson was truly Grant's replacement on offense. Continuing our season comparison between Grant and Jamieson, here are their performances in week two of the 2011 NLL season.
John Grant (at Calgary)
Week 2: 1 goal, 1 point, 2 PIM
Season Totals: 5 goals, 3 assists, 8 points, 2 loose balls, 4 PIM
Cody Jamieson (versus Toronto)
Week 2: 3 goals, 3 assists, 6 points, 4 loose balls
Season Totals: 5 goals, 3 assists, 8 points, 5 loose balls, 17 PIM
John Grant had a poor performance this week, maybe one of the worst of his career, putting up just a single point. He did have two of his goals called back which (had they stood) would have given him a hat trick. Still, this comparison is about actual statistics and Cody Jamieson clearly had the better week.
Score: Grant 1 / Jamieson 1
