Quick Thoughts: The Zack Greer Trade

By Mike Wilson

If you missed it, Zack Greer has been sent off to the Rush for a 2013 first round pick.

My thoughts:

Just what we need, another under achieving forward. The NCAA's All-time leading scorer only put up 23 points last season in 13 games. This season, he has put up 10 points in 4 games. Underwhelming.

He now joins the ranks of Andy Secore, Gavin Prout, Ryan Ward, and Dean Hill as Rush shooters that need to put more points up on the board.

Another thing, they gave up way more then they needed do to get him. He is not worth a first rounder.

On the bright side, they can put him in and get Dane Stevens off the damn floor.

Let’s hope this trade is as successful as the Scott Evans trade was. Evans has scored 9 goals for the Rush in the past 2 games and has been one of the only players on the team to act like he wants to win.

*He looks pretty pumped to come to Edmonton.

** Maybe Graeme Perrow has it right when he says it just might be a change of scenery thing.

  1. Interesting... of all of the Rush shooters you listed, only Prout is not an ex-Swarmer.

  2. Wow. The Swarm built their entire marketing around Greer last year. He became the face of their franchise.
